Poached eggs in tomato sauce with bacon?!

We ran across this Italian dish while randomly watching Youtube videos and fell in love with it!

We were craving by the end of the video and decided we shall cook it.

I bought the ingredients Friday 25th July after work and of course had problems buying parsley! Ughh 😦

The staff said it seems that the parsley has been sold out for the day and it was only 1:30 PM.

I bought basil leaves instead.

I got the recipe here.

Saturday 26th July

We went to the house around 12:30 and they were just done eating lunch.

We watched for a little bit and then prepped the ingredients

Butter, chopped garlic and bacon; sliced Baguette breads to be turned into garlic bread. Yey!

EGGS! All 19 of them.

Olive Oil, Parmesan Cheese, Tomato Sauce, Tomato Paste (Optional), Thyme and Sage for seasoning (Optional), Chili Powder (alternative to the chili pepper flakes) and Easy Melt Cheese (Optional) because we want it extra cheesy!!!

I won’t lie, when we were watching the video what was going through my head was that it was easy breezy to cook it… but damn! 😦 I really had a hard time cooking it compared to the carbonara. I don’t know if it was because I was PMS-ing or what but I was frustrated that it didn’t look the same with Laura Vitale’s although they said it tasted like lasagna.

We didn’t cook anymore and Souris decided to use the leftover to make Yangchow rice.

Thanks Souris for always saving the day! 😀
