It was indeed worth the wait for our team building to take place.
The weather was kind enough to give us a little bit of sunshine to enjoy the beach and our activities.
June 14, 2014 Saturday
I woke up early for our call time. Souris was kind enough to hail me a cab and see me for the last time as we won’t be seeing each other til Sunday. Yes, we’re clingy like that 😛
It was around 5AM when our team (The Corporate Accounts) decided to meet up and eat breakfast together before the bus arrives (again, we’re clingy like that ha ha ha). We decided to eat at the Pares – Tapsihan surprisingly very close to where I live.
It was around 7AM when we left the office and it was a 3-hour drive to the resort.
Everyone was on hyper mode but after 15-20 minutes everyone was already sleeping. Ain’t that cute!
We had a 30-minute stop over somewhere along SLEX and of course, the mandatory mirror shot at a public restroom had to happen. Ehhh, I’m not so proud of it but I am not a fun sucker either. So if you can’t beat them, join them 🙂
And after 2 more hours, we got to ze AcuaVerde Beach Resort! Whoooo! These are us arriving. Credits to our HR Manager who got in earlier to organize our seminar. And yes, that is… all of us.
We got around 10AM at the resort and oh we are so tired! Some of us wanted to take their siesta, some already wanted to take their cigar break, some wanted to eat lunch. Ultimately we were only given a 10-minute break to settle then the seminar started.
Our HR Manager, Bosses and facilitator gave a few words and reminders before we started with the activities.
Our first activity was… ehhh… a chaos! Hahaha It was somewhat like a bingo game but what you had to blackout were the squares that consist personalities that you had to have your colleague sign if he/she is what’s being pertained in the description. I.e Has a pet dog, can juggle 3 balls, has a daughter… stuff like that.
And these pictures? These were during the game 😀
Everyone was tired after that! 😛
Second activity was about our personality differences and how we should handle them in the workplace to further understand our colleagues. It was based on the D-I-S-C assessment.
My highest was I for Inducement and second was S for Submission. It was a really helpful activity if I may say so.
The next activity after that was everyone’s favorite: LUNCH TIME!
After lunch we were given a 15-minute break to check in our things at our respective rooms and to also get ready as the second half of the seminar were outdoor activities. My roomie was Ann.
For our outfit for the outdoor activity, you have to understand that Ann and I are very outgoing people. For us, when you say outdoor activity and it is on a beach is that it’ll really be a physical activity… but…
to our surprise it were just minor outdoor actvities. We forgot to consider our other colleagues who were basically already older than us. Our bad!
First outdoor activity was making a community out of sand. We had to explain how teamwork can play a role within the community that we created.
Second outdoor activity was being blind folded and following our Team Leader for the game so we can collect the flags. The Team Leaders in the game were our real life boss at work. We don’t have pictures for it. I don’t know why. Hahaha
Afterwards, we went back inside and did the last activity before we have our free time. It was basically an activity about setting goals and guidelines. And after that we took out the puzzle piece inside our “Keep Me” envelope and completed the puzzle.
It resembles our teamwork through communication, respect and understanding ones differences.
And then it was FREE TIME!
How dinner time was? Here you go, dear 🙂
Social Drinking time 🙂 but before that the girls… ehhh.. of course we took a lot of pictures first hahaha
We decided to use the boys room for our drinking sesh because of course as girls we don’t want our room messy.
After these pictures, I can’t remember anything much anymore. Although I know I was able to go back to my room without any help.
The next morning was… TERRIBLE. I kept puking because of drinking from vodka to whiskey to brandy… ohh gosh I thought I was going to die BUT despite that I was able to get up puke accordingly in the bathroom, wash up, even order water from room service and invite Ann for a walk outside before breakfast.
When I got out, Ann was taking pictures and I laid down at the reclining beach chair. After a few minutes, I puked again and this time it was already acid and yes… Ann got it on camera.
I kept fighting myself and even changed to my swim wear and joined them for breakfast but no good. So I went back to my room and slept.
Woke up around 9 AM feeling MUCH BETTER. I asked Ann to join me take my breakfast and yes, for the second time around I was okay although a bit groggy but I was able to eat without puking! 😀 Amazing! I actually took a moment to pray and thank God for that.
And then It was time to go. Everyone was really tired and sleepy. Ann seated across so we can have more space. And again she successfully took a very heartwarming photo of how I comfortably slept to our ride back to Manila hahaha. I love you Ann. Even if it’s like this, you had photos for me to share! 😀 Hahaha
And that’s the end of the trip! When I got home I hugged Souris and gave her some homecoming treats I got on the stop over.
Thank you for reading! 🙂
Stay happy and positive!
